Merry Christmas!

I am finally back in Blogland, after a looong time!
As you might know, I've been without my lap top for almost two months now, and today the postman came to my door with a package I really have been waiting for! MY NEW LAP TOP ARRIVED!!! I'm soooo happy it came before the Holidays starts!

I haven't been able to do sewing for a long time now, but I have to post my pics from the projects I finished earlier this month.

The first picture is the table runner with angels from AnnAKa's design "Jula varer helt til påske".

The next is the table runner for Advent. This is the third one I've made, and this is the one I am keeping myself :o)

The last picture is the baby wool socks I made for my neighbours newborn baby. They are really tiny, and so cute:o)

I am lookig forward to dinner at Christmas eve with my family, and then we all can relax and just enjoy the rest of the Holidays :o)
I wish you all a Merry Christmas, and I hope you will have some great Christmas Holidays!

I'm still here

Hello there!
It's been so long since my last post, but life just happends, and no time and STILL no return of my laptop from the technichian :o( So no photos from me for a while...

I didn't get time to report for the OPAM this month, but I got to finish up a couple of projects though:o) I was busy with our Christmas sale the whole weekend, and too tired to do any computer work.
My OPAM goals for the last month of the year, is to finish some table runners. I need to finish four table runners, so hopefully I'll get to do that before the end of December :o)

I hope to spend some time in my sewing room this weekend, got some gifts to finish up ;o)
But in between, I'm going to test some baking skills too :o)

Have a great weekend everyone :o)

OPAM report

Haven't been sewing much for a looong time. Been busy with other stuff :o(
But one of my goals for OPAM this month, is to finish a table runner I started on, a Christmas table runner. From AnnaKa of course:o)

Not a good photo, but you can see from the pattern picture which one I'm making. The one with the angels, and it says "Merry Christmas" in Norwegian. I really love angels, and I love everything with angels on.

The next project I hope to finish, is the backpack from Gail Pan's pattern. I finished the stitchery while I was in Oslo. Ain't it too cute?

I love this stitchery, and I've bought some purple fabrics I know will look soooo great for this project :o)

I'm still without my lap top, and still borrowing my DS's pc. I may deliver the piece of trunk back to the dealer, so i hope to get a new one. I hate it when it dies out time after time after time....
This time I told them I refuse to have it back, so they sent me a message to return the whole thing, so... maybe, I'll get a new one. FINALLY!!!!

The trip to Oslo was both great, and stressful and kind of not so great.
The greatest thing, was that me and mom got to meet Hanne Schneider and her fellow quilters at their quilt guild meeting the day we arrived. So many nice quilts to see, and so fun to meet other ladies I know well from Blogland :o) Several of them are belonging to Hanne's quilt guild:o)
We where in Oslo because I had several medical appointments there, at different places. So we had to rush from one place to another, so it was kind of stressful... But thanks to Hanne, we got a lot less stressful time! She made it so easy for us! And she also took us to Trådsnella, a little shop in her "neighbourhood", so we got to shop some, and we also got to see her lovely basket quilt. My mom just fell in love with it! And I can understand why, because it's so beautiful! Thank you again Hanne, for making our trip so nice for us :o)
When we where going back, our plane was suddenly an hour late, and when we finally got to get on board, we where told that there where maybe too much fog to land, so I almost cried of happiness when we got to land. We where so worn out, so we just wanted to get home, and jump into our own beds. MMMMMMMMmmmm. That felt soooo goood!!!!
I didn't at all love the flights, but it was ok, so I guess I'll be taking one again, but not right now! :o)
We got home safe, and that's what matters to me :o)

Look forward to get my pc back, and to leave comments on your blogs again. I'll be back soon ;o)

Wish you all a great weekend :o)
Hugs,
Laila

A stithchery is finished :o)

Back in Blogland again :o)

Haven't got my lap top back yet, so I still have to borrow my DS's lap top. Anyway, I'm happy to be back for a moment again :o)

I have been sewing some today, FINALLY!!! My shoulder is almost healed, so now I'm able to enjoy my favorite thing again, SEWING. Feels soooo good to finally do a few stitches, when I haven't been able to touch a needle for so long!
I finished my little stitchery from Gail Pan's new book, and I got to paint the frame and put it all together in no time. I hang it on the kitchen wall right away :o) I love to have add some new stuff now and then, in my own house. Not often, but I want to make it more often from now. It's so cozy when you add some homemade stuff, don't you agree?
My kithchen wall is purple, so this is just perfect :o)

Since I haven't got time to finish anything else for OPAM this month, this will be my last reported finish too. I also finished the outside of the little pouch I started earlier. Have to finish the inside too, and I am making this as a Christmas gift for my sweet niece, Mildrid. She was spending some time with me some time ago, and she wanted me to teach her how to make a stitchery. She did so well, and she's almost done with the stitchery now. I'll help her make a little wallhanging or a needlecase of it when she is coming next time :o)

Today, Hubby bought me a suitcase for my trip to Oslo next week. And he knows I just love purple, so purple it is! Ain't this just darned cute? I love it! He's just the sweetest <3

I've never been to Oslo before, and I've never taken a flight before, so it's soooo my first time! My mom is going with me, and I'm also going to meet a friend I've really missed seeing! I'll tell you about it when I get back ;o) We're leaving Trondheim on Wednesday, and we return late Friday. I'm looking forward to this trip, and since I'm such a homesick person, I look forward to get back home too :o) But who knows, if I get the taste of travveling, maybe I'll get hooked on it? We'll see about that :o)
Wish you all a great weekend,

A finish!

I finished this wallhanging more than a week ago, but since I've had my lap top in for repair, I haven't been able to make any blog posts... Thanks to my DS1, I can join blogland for some time again :o) I'm borrowing his lap top, so now I can finally leave some comments again too :o)

We are having an Autumn vacation here in Norway these days, and it's just great to enjoy some time with the kids, and let them sleep longer in the morning (mee to...), and stay up a bit longer in the evening :o) It's been such bad weather here for the longest time, but yesterday and today was such beautiful days with low temperatures, but SUNNY!!!
Had some cups of coffee today outside :o)
There is so many beautiful colors outside now, since the leafs haven't fallen from the trees yet. Lots of inspiration in that!
My bad shoulder is keeping me from sewing anything at all, and that's just soooo sad! But instead I'm organizing my stash a bit, and reading magazines and books. Searching for ideas and inspiration :o) Hope to get started on some Christmas projects soon, have tons of ideas!!!!

Happy stitching,
Laila

Project report for OPAM

I haven't any projects to show September OPAM. I had a couple of project to finish, but I got so eager to continue working on Gail Pan's "Laila's garden", so I hope to have them finished by the end of October.
I'm planning to finish "Laila's garden" during this weekend, and hope to get the ones I reported last month as well :o)

Guess I will not be able to blog so much for a while, since my lap top is going to the technician again... They didn't repair all the stuff that is wrong with it last time, so I have to return it, again...
In the meantime I hope to get some sewing done, and have some sneak peaks now and then from my DS's pc ;o)

Wish you all a great weekend, and happy stitching!

Goals for OPAM September

Haven't been so busy in my sewing room lately, but I got to start on a new project :o)
I went to my quilt guild's meeting earlier this week, and I bought Gail Pan's new book " Baskets in bloom". It's a great book, with a lot of beautiful work with stitcheries and appliques. I
did fall in love with a little wallhanging called " Little Basket Blue". The original is stitched with light blue variengated dmc thread, but I decided to use my favourite colors, purple... :o)
Finished size is 9" by 11", and it's going to be hung on the wall with a frame in wood.
It's lovely, isn't it?

I forgot to report my goals for the OPAM this month, and I have two goals. The one is the stitchery above, and the second is the wallhanging I started some time ago, a stitchery project by Cinderberry stitches:

Today I finished cutting all the pieces for the next charity quilt. I got to pick up some more fabrics from Sølvi at the quilt guilt meeting, and my mom is going to piece it togheter. This is the pile of pieces:
Lots of different fabrics, but I think it will be a great quilt :o) I forgot to take a picture of the baby quilt she made, but I know it's on it's way to a little baby girl soon :o)
Guess Sølvi will have photos of the care quilts as they are delivered to her at the care quilt blog "Tepper til St. Olav".

I am going to work some more on my purple quilt today, and hopefully I get to finish it this month, but I don't wanna rush it. I am not a speed piecer all the time, but as long there is progress - it will be finished ;o)

Enjoy your Sunday,
Laila

Another purse finished :o)

Today I finally got to do some sewing, and I finished another purse from the pattern called "Gla'veska" by AnnAKa. So that means another finish for the OPAM :o)I really hope the recipient is going to be happy about it. She liked the fabrics I got for it, so I think she will :o)

Have been struggling with my migraine again for some days, and I was so happy when it finally went away this afternoon. Yay! Finally some sewing again :o)
Tomorrow I hope to do some more work in my sewing room, and got a few other projects waiting for me to get finished ;o) I will get a couple of UFO's out of their boxes, I think...
I'm also working on a purple/white quilt (yes, a new one...), and I hope to show you some pics of the progress when I get some further progress.

Some quilting, my goal for OPAM and an award

The day after I visited Sølvi, I got to finish quilting one of the projects I brought home from her. Just the binding is left to finish now:o) I'm not showing any photos here, I think I'll leave that to Sølvi, she updates the blog for these charity quilts when they are finished ;o) So now I have two of these quilts ready for binding. Hope to start with that job soon.

We have been away from Wednesday to Saturday, at my Hubby's parents place, and I didn't spend so much time sewing. We had fun fishing, and we caught some too:o) We did fish two days on a row, and caught ten small ones we had for late supper the second day. MMMM...Jummy!(Forgot to take a photo...) We also visited some friends of us at their Summer place while we where there. So I got to hand over the table runner to the reciepient:o)
She liked so much! So now I only have to finish her pillows with the same design too :o)

I spend a lot of time during the first week of our vacation sewing, and I started a scrap quilt I got to start the quilting on, yesterday. I finished the quilting tonight, and tomorrow I will find some fabric for the binding. It's a lap quilt size, so it will will be perfect for a little girl I think.

This is the layout before I pieced it together.

And this is how it looks after quilting.

This project is my goal for the OPAM for August.

Today I had a lovely lady for a visit at my place. May Britt is such a nice lady, and it was so great to have a chat with her about our common passion Quilting & Patchwork :o) And it was so nice to meet her in person!
We agreed on some ideas for storing our beautiful fabrics ;o) As you may know, she is also reorganizing and making a new sewing room at her place :o)
Thanks for the visit May Britt :o) Have fun in your new sewing room :o)

While I was away on our trip, I received a lovely award from Lekaquilt :

Thank you so much! So nice of you :o)
I want to give this award to some of the blogs I visit the most, and find very cozy and special, and that is:
Lekaquilt :o), Hanne, May Britt, Darcie, Sølvi, Julie, Kviltstina og Elin.
Thanks for the inspiration :o)

I think I'll check up on those bedbugs, it's way behind bedtime...

Yay! A finish :o)

I really didn't think I would finish the table runner so fast, but I did :o)
The picture is a bit blurry, I guess it's because of the light in my sewing room and the fact that it's so dark outside! It's midsummer, but it's so rainy and the clouds are so dark, it feels more like late Autumn :o( The rain has been pouring down really bad all day, not once it stopped! It's still pouring down, so I guess it won't stop for another day...
Well, that means staying inside, and having some quality time in my sewing room :o)

I also made some progress on the two pillows, that will have the same owner as the table runner. Just have t
o quilt them, and then add the appliqué pieces. Guess I'll get to practice some free motion quilting on the back of the pillows :O)

This is a picture of the small blocks I made some days ago. I think it will be a baby quilt, guess it will be too small for a lap quilt, but I'll make up my mind after I'm done piecing all of them. I had just enough background fabric for 30 blocks. Just a tiny bit is left, its 2,5" big!!! That is what I call luck :o)
I love these fabrics, and some of them are the very first Japanese fabrics I bought. That is some years ago now...
I did some stashbusting here, and that is what I really love, Scrap quilts :o)

I haven't got any UFO's I want to finish this month, but I have promised to make a bag for a friend of mine, and that will be my goal for July :o)

Progress on Leanne's House BOM and finishes for OPAM

The last two days have been full of sunshine, and almost too hot for me to sit outside in the sun. There has not been so much sewing time this last week, but I finally started on an other block on the Leanne's House BOM tonight. Now block #2 is finally ready for some stitchery :o)

I didn't get time to go down town to Quiltegården to buy more of the "Borders made easy", so I didn't get to finish the quilt for the OPAM this month as I planned, but hopefully I'll make it next month...
I have no finishes other than the two knitted projects, but sometimes life just happens, and things don't turn out the way it was planned.
I'm also taking a little break from the Patchwork Party 2009-blocks. Only six left now, and I will continue working on them soon again.

I finished block #1 of Leanne's House BOM the other day, so I'm after all having some progress.
I'm enjoying the evening, sipping to a glass of red wine, and some stitching before I'll go check up on the bed bugs :o)

Jippi! A finish :o)

I finished these knittet socks today. I guess they fit the feet of a 5 year old, but I haven't had anyone particular in mind when I knittet them. I just love to knit socks in this size :o) They don't stay unfinished for so long, since it doesn't take a lot of time to finish them.
I like to do some easy work between all the long term projects. Got enough of them...lying around in my sewing room...

I have been knitting some mittens now and then too, and doing more and more progress on them. The only thing is, i always forget to turn the pattern, so I have two left hand of two of these ones... I got it right only on the pair in light blue and cream. Well, so I'll have to knit two more rights, for the red and dark blue ones... So in the end I will have two pairs of each of them... But they will be great for Christmas presents or something like that:o)

Well, I'm back to sewing again. I'm on with block #6 on the Patchwork Party blocks now. Finished the cutting, and now some sewing. OMG this has really become an addiction...

OPAM challenge, goals for May

Since I didn't get any projects finished in April, I hope to get some for this month. I have three finishes I want to report as my goals, and that is to finish the blue and white mittens I started today, the star quilt (baby quilt) I have been working on the last months, and the blue and brown double 4 patch quilt. I have ordered some more batting for the quilt, so I hope it arrives in a week or two, so I can get on with it!

I have already a finish for May, whoohoo! The baby mittens are finished :o)

These where so fun to do, so i will make several of them :o) Fast, and fun ;o)
I've got so much yarn to knit with, and I should get some of it used, instead of let it stay in a bunch of boxes, and let it go to waste. But when I wanna do something else than sewing, it's great to have some boxes with different yarn in lovely colors to play with. It's also easy to take with me in my purse or bag when I go somewhere :o)

Hubby and our oldest have been working on the bike this weekend, and it's now quite changed!
It went from yellow to charcoal metallic :O) Sooo cool!

Some new blocs

I did sew some new blocks a couple of weeks ago. Aren't they cute? I'm not shure how many I am going to make, but at least enough for a babyquilt:O) They measure 8".
This is going to be my finish (the only one) for the OPAM this month.
I've also been cutting a lot of fabric the past days. It is a quilt I have planned to do for a long time now. It's called "The ring of fire" and is one of my favourite quilts. And even if it takes a lot of time to cut all the pieces, I can assure you it's worth it! You can see my first try on one of the block I did earlier here. It is the most beautiful scrap quilt ever!
This is some of the precut pieces, and more is going to be cut :O)

I'll be piecing some as many blocks I'm able to during the Easter Holidays, so I know what I'll be doing for the next week:O) Look forward to make this:O)
Now it's back to my sewing room, see ya!
